YOU know ME, "Black Wolf"...I know YOU..the shadow in the forest, the nightmare of children.....
You remember my teeth around your throat as I remember yours upon mine..
We have been at war, you and I,..since before this world,..long into the abyss of memory..
SEE the Teeth of the Watchdog..feel old fear and pain return...
HEAR the beating of my strong heart..recognise there, the line you will never cross...
Smell the air between us, rank with old hatred, alive with the energy of impending violence..Taste it.
Know that time is only an illusion, the past leading here and the after falling away, irrelevance, there is only the now, and it will decide.
LOOK..into my dark, gentle, sad eyes...and through them...deep into my ancient and battle-worn soul...

I am a sight-hound, My eyes see clear and far, I look upon the Lambs down in the meadow , they do not see far, their world filled with the innocence of happy things, green grass, buzzing insects, and all the pretty flowers, They can play, without a care in the world, as is their way.
I look to the Mountains, I cannot see beyond them , so there are things I don't know, even within the rugged & distant foothills, there are dark canyons filled with shadow and mystery, caves deep and dark where evil things dwell. On the Summits lay great ice-flows, so vast they fill the mind with feelings of weakness and insignificance.
Most fearful of all are the forests that blanket the slopes ..the territory of the Black Wolf.
But the mountains are beautiful..to see them is to lose innocence, but find something greater within yourself, ..and when the wolf DOES come here, I MUST lay down my life, with ALL the things I love, my fireside, my friends, my beloved master, to protect the lambs and fight the wolf...for this view, and every good thing in my life, is a price paid in advance of this DUTY....some of us just aren't lambs or sheep, we can NOT stay in the meadow... we are other beings, WE have other "paths", I have friends that see things I never can, The Owl in the Barn, The Cat near the Kitchen, and that Crazy Horse in the back field, where the mushrooms grow....they see things from different "perspectives", perspectives I value, I listen to...I can never fly through the trees or chase a rat underground, and I'll never run with the thunderous power of a horse, (I envy that most of all)...but I can follow the principles & lessons in their experience and apply them to MY path..
And what IS our path?..WE MUST "follow our nose".......we are DOGS...we can be wolves or we can be watchdogs..we must make that choice.
WE Know Love & Hate
WE know Courage and FEAR
WE will be equal to ALL
You can get angry at the Watchdog for barking...and disturbing your DREAMS....but THERE IS a Wolf on our farm.. and this dog WILL bark.................................. WAKE UP!!
it's NOT the size of the Dog in the fight...but the size of the fight in the DOG..

And the fur is about to fly.
