@donleviatan God refers to Himself as male, and as a Father. But not in the sense of "male" that we think of; man AND woman are made in the image of God. The song is implying that God is not a human, but a spirit.

A cult does not have to be centered around religion. A cult is a group of people holding great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing. You could create a football cult if you were so inclined.

Oh my gosh... one of my all time-favorite intros, to any song, anywhere! Wish the song was more hardcore, but still an amazing piece of work.
