About Me:
I play with a band (Furious George) and often record and write with a friend, Shawn. Both links are on my channel (above?).
I've been playing since around 1998.
For those of you who are curious about my set-
------------------------------
(In old videos:)
It's a black Pearl Wood/Fiberglass kit, from around the 70s. I use Remo heads (Pinstripes and Ambassador snares).
Drum sizes:
High tom - 12"x9"
Middle tom - 13"x10"
Floor tom - 16"x16"
Pearl steel snare - 14"x6"
Gretsch Mighty Mini steel snare - 8"x5.5"
Bass drum - 22"x16"
------------------------------
(In the newer videos:)
It's a Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz in White Pearl. I still have my other kit but this is the one I gig with for the sake of simplicity and portability. I set it up in the basement for better sound and fewer interruptions. With this setup, I'm using Crashes 1 and 2 (see below).
Drum sizes:
High tom - 12"x8"
Floor tom - 14"x14"
Pearl steel snare - 14"x6"
Bass drum - 18"x14"
------------------------------
Cymbals:
Hi-hats - 14" old Zildjians, don't know the model
"Splash" - piece of trash, no info on it at all
Crash 1 (left) - 16" Avedis Zildjian Medium Thin Crash
Crash 2 (middle) - 16" Zildjian A Custom Crash (the shiny one)
China 1 (right) - 16" Han-Chi China (same as Wuhan)
China 2 (left) - (replaced) - 20" Wuhan China
Ride - 21" old Zildjian, don't know the model
Crash 3 (right) - 18" Avedis Zildjian Medium Thin Crash drilled with 3 rivets
------------------------------
Mics -
CAD Pro-7 Mic Pack:
1 x SN 210 (Snare)
3 x TM 211 (Toms)
1 x KM 212 (Kick/Bass)
2 x CM 217 (Overheads/Cymbals)
Mixer -
Carvin SM162
I record straight from the mixer. I split the iPod so that it goes to my headphones and also to the mixer, and then balance it with the microphones. I take the Headphone Out from the mixer and put it into the line in port on my computer. I record straight into iMovie and use my MacBook Pro iSight camera.
