Real Music... Beatmaking, Scratching, Computers - Graphics, IT-------------------------------------------- Sampling: Why do we sample? Well, from the perspective of new producers it might be just keeping the tradition that revolutionized in the 80's and totally changed the way we think of music in 90's (as we know many other genres came up from sampling culture). "Nowadays" definition - it's just a way to make music. You may think that sampling producers are people who are borrowing other instruments just because they can't play on their own - and this is the wrong way of thinking. There is true magic in samples. It's not just about combining sounds of instruments - not even making a beat/song from single instrument per sample! Let's take a 50's 60's jazz sample... drummer slightly hitting on hi hats and drums, contrabass in the background, piano, saxophone, cymbals - you see? Imagine it all at once, and from my experience instruments are recorded in diffrent channels, so panning it from left to right makes even more possibilities to mess around with it.. yea i'm talking about - hmmm - few second sample? So you can compare it to micro-world. Seeing (hearing) new things which you might miss or just see (listen) in the original way it was intended to be.
