I agree that there is no tangible evidence to support either theory, evolution or intelligent design. However, the origin of life especially to mortal beings is worthy of exploration. Since neither can be proved in a material world and one must be chosen, why not choose the one that guarantees eternal life. Do you believe Jesus lived on this planet?

If you're talking about micro-evolution, yes changes within species is known to happen, but macro-evolution, the change of one species into another has never been witnessed or able to be reproduced under natural occurrences. The simple question is how you believe life began. What do you believe?
