for the record, nirvana gets compared to the pixies because nirvana was influenced so much by them. kurt cobain even said that some of his most successful songs were him trying to write a pixies tune. in my opinion, both are good bands. but the pixies are infinitely... good-er.

as much as i like kid cudi (contrary to my typical opinions on rappers), impersonating jimi hendrix in auto-tuned song lacking any real guitar playing angers me a tad. ah well though, this guy's one of the best things to happen to mainstream music recently, and i hope he keeps up the good job.

for the record, the solo in the recorded version of the song was also improvised. during recording page improvised 3 different solos, and the one so lavishly praised today is what he thought was the best one.
