why is it that you cannot be happy for someone else's success when she was shooting to the stars everyone was rallying behind her and it is like now that she has reach a high rank in the music industry, people try to bring her done.... if you do not like... don't listen...

@selina6479 you should also check out the original dying swan Pavlova the technique back then was clearly not as advanced as today but the raw emotions is something to behold... she looks like a dying creature not some one acting death by making pretty gestures... :-)

I heard Céline sing this live in Montréal in 90 or 91... it was the "call back" at the end of her concert... I was always impressed with the her vocal control... and I remember thinking "your great but you will not be able to sustain this at the end of a concert" boy oh boy oh boy was I wrong......

@bearius having met both those ladies... and having had the opportunity to hear them both live often... it really boils down to taste... the only thing I would say is that Céline is %99.99 of the time on pitch something that is very rare in other singers Lara included... but I am in awe of...

There is a quality to Callas' voice that is so moving and touching... This voice is so beautiful to my ears and my heart HEARS it... pure magic!

I have to say I have yet to hear her live... but no recording I have heard of hers make me WANT to hear her live :-( simply does not appeal to my ears. She obviously has appeal as many love her... I wish her a long and successful career.
