i have no reason to make anything up. Yes, my grandfather has been a Shriner for at least 20-30 years. After he retired from being a truck driver, he became "Wahoo" the clown in the Shrine Circus. He is still a Shrine Mason, but no longer a member of the circus. He still participates in parades and fund raisers for the Shriners hospital for children. He was also elected a Worshipful Master in the 90's. All of my uncles are now Shriners as well, including 3 of my great uncles, my mothers 2 brothers and brother-in-law, and several cousins.

Your grandfather was a shrine clown and was able to witness elephant training? I highly doubt that. You people will make up anything just to get some attention.

We also do not get any government support, not financial or otherwise. Both our employers offer health insurance (we use my husband's), and even if we wanted financial support from the government be it money or food stamps (which we don't), we wouldn't get it, we make too much to qualify. We're not rich, but we make enough to care for our family and expenses, and even a few extras sometimes. It's very ignorant to assume these things about me because of my racial background. I WISH my background got me all the things you think it does, then I wouldn't be up to my ears in college loan payments (which I pay).

change your opinion by getting a job and caring for my kids? I have a job, a degree (though I'm working on a better degree), and 2 certificates for post high school education. I'm a veterinary technician and in school to be a veterinarian. I have a daughter and am trying to have another child. My child is well cared for by myself and my husband (who also has a job, but that's irrelavant since he's white, so I'm sure you already assume he has a job) and lives happily in the house WE own. She is doing very well in kindergarten at a private school. She's healthy and happy, and I couldn't ask for a better child. You stereotyped me based on my ethnicity, assuming I didn't have a job and that I had a house full of kids I didn't care for. It's that kind of ignorance that makes others stereotype people with beliefs like yours.

lonewolf There are racists in every race, I'm not denying that. I wouldn't agree with your comment, but yes there are black, white, asian, and hispanic racists.
