The Hong Kong Guitar Ensemble

The Hong Kong Guitar Ensemble is found in 1987. It aims to improve the performing skills and musicianship of our members, also promote classical guitar music to the general public.

After our first performance in Aberdeen Civic Centre in 1987, in the past two decades, we have regularly performed and toured around different major city town halls, cultural centres, tertiary education institutes and broadcasting organizations within Hong Kong.

There are over twenty members in our ensemble, and the music we play ranges widely from serious classical music to folks and popular hit tunes. With such a great varieties of genres, we hope to enhance our performance and make guitar music popular to our community.
We often work to benefit charities and people in need of help, such as "Lifeline Express"; provide industry placements for tertiary students; give help to children from underprivileged families in Shamshuipo; give charity educational trips to the rural areas of China and we also work among centers for the elderly.

These days, we successfully co-operate and hold different educational music exchange programs, master classes and concerts with musicians all over the world, including Australia, Brazil, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore and Sweden.
