http://freestyler... As a rapper, you're going to need an alias. It will become your identity. The first thing people will find out about you is your name. Is yours catchy enough? We've all seen rappers with names we wish we would have made up. In this post, I'm going to explain how to create a rapper name that is both memorable and perfect for your style.
1) Make use of your given nicknames. "Chiddy" got his nickname from Chidera. What were you called in school? Does your family use a nickname for you?
2) Try using your first name, middle name, or an abbreviation. Eminem (M & M) are the initials for Marshall Mathers (his real name). Joe Budden just uses his real name. 3) A unique feature about your style could be used as a nickname. Do you rap fast? Is your style really laid-back? Think Twista or Busta Rhymes. 4) Do you have any heroes or people you look up to? Taking the name of an historical figure shows a great deal of respect. That's What 50Cent and Rick Ross did. 5) Ask other rappers where they got their nickname from. The answer may surprise you.
6) Try building off of another rapper's name. Does "Shady" appeal to you? What about using "Lil'" in front of your name? Would "Dre" sound cool at the end of your alias?
7) Try using an element or an abstract concept. "Organik" "Atmosphere" "Lethal" "Diffusion". Which ideas appeal to you? How can you use those ideas as your rapper name? 8) Rep your state in your name. We came up with "Kaliflowzz" From "California" and "Flowing". Can you use parts of your state name in your rapping alias? 9) Vary the spelling. Different spelling can make an old word look new. Rapping names should have unique spelling. Replace "C" with a "K" or "F" with a "Ph" as in "Traphik". Try replacing "cs" with an "X" as in "Phonix"
10) Numbers can add an original element to your name and stand out. Think "E-40" or "Tech N9ne"
