Ooo ok theres another way. Put your channel is the new design (u can change it back after) and it says "Avater" after that click browse there, once your pic has loaded change back to the old channel desgin :)

You click on your channel at the top right hand corner and click settings, it shows your picture and from there you click change then browse :)
