IIRC mercury was used this way by Japanese saboteurs in WWII to weaken the structure of US aircrafts. Quite insidious considering that the aluminum still looks like aluminum, but has no strength.

Cool demo, smart idea to directly use the stereo output of a soundcard as XY deflection generator.
Just tried it with a Thinkpad X32 on my Tek 7904A scope, works great , but isn't as beautiful here.

I see that the green trigger light of the 7B10 (A Beam) isn't on, so the scope doesn't trigger. Try to set it on auto (first illuminated button of the 7B10 from left) and try if the beam is visible then. Or turn the Without trigger, the scope won't display a trace. If this doesn't w...
