Bristol's bright young hope caps off an immense year with a couple of chrome-plated krunkstep goodies for Tectonic. It's hard to pick a favourite between 'City Hopper' and 'Output 1-2' but I think we'd have to draw for the latters laidback G-swagger. It's no bruk-out big-drop business, favouring a slow skulking rhythm with darkly toned splashes of purple synth coloration and wickedly jarring harmonics reserved for opportune moments, proving he's not reliant on overused, hackneyed tricks like too many producers we can't mention. 'City Hopper' on the flip will probably achieve the anthem status however, strirring up electric P-funk riffs over a rhythm cut from skull biting snares and sub-loaded kicks built in a deceptively simple fashion. Rude rollers for all the purple badboys!
