Can I cry?

Will you allow me to be weak

If only for a moment in time...

To relieve some of the pain

That plagues me

And let live the memories

That after which I must let go forever

Is it so bad to hold onto the past

When the present holds no joy

And the future seems so far away

Must I move forward

When letting go is the hardest thing

I've ever had to do

I know this love has ended

But I do not wish to forget the way it feels

Is it so wrong to not want to be alone

With thoughts that haunt me endlessly

Tearing me apart

I only wish to grasp a hint of lost happiness

Like the hand I used to hold...

Or the subtle smile spread 'cross your face

Those three words so overused

Still used to bring warmth into my heart

Oh how things have changed

Time may heal wounds

But it also creates rifts

And memories one cannot escape

In the end claiming us all

Swallowing our very existence

So is it so bad that i'd like to remember

And revel in the past

Before the present becomes future

And beginnings become the end

Then nothing at all...

Just a speck in time long forgotten

A thing we're all destined to be

I'll try my hardest to remember this love
