@stix471 It was the height of the cold war and everyone feared encroaching communism. Russia had been turned back from their efforts to place nuclear weapons in Cuba. South Vietnam asked for our help and we gave it. Besides, there was money to be made there by wealthy contractors, ect.

You and I are in complete agreement. Either we have a Constitution or we don't. I really dislike how some people pick and choose which parts of the Constitution are valid and disregard those they don't agree with. I applaud your fortitude.

In my opinion Bailey was in office for the money and voted accordingly. I questioned him about his voting and he condescendingly informed me that I couldn't see the "big picture". In my opinion his tehure was a joke........on us.

@101andrewj That's the dumbest thing I ever heard.....I've served in 2 branches of the U.S. military and can operate any small arms piece in our arsenal. I suppose, suddenly, once out of the military a person loses his ability to be responsible with a small firearm??

@longlivetheking58 I was in rehab in 1980 and the twelve steps aren't god oriented, they're "higher power" oriented. Our facilitator said we could consider a door knob as a higher power it it worked for us.
