A kick-ass song with great lyrics and great instrumental work. Phenomenal to drive your Cutlass Supreme to with your "Greg Brady hair" on LA's freeways. I just linked this to a cousin overseas who had never heard it before and she liked it, too.

I first heard this on vacation in FLORIDA. Channel surfing in the rental car, there was a station that said its call letters and then said "where dance music lives." This goes with Florida. When I got home, it wasn't played as much. More quirky than a good song.

Yep, on the 101 (Bayshore) Freeway going through San Mateo CA, south of SFO, in a Ford Maverick with plaid seats.

This was freeway music, if you don't dance, that is. And all those years coming over the airwaves, I thought she was a black woman...learn something new every day.

Not trying to be a jerk, but easier on the eyes than other ladies of this era, by leaps and bounds: Donna Summer, Alicia Bridges, Gloria Gaynor, Andrea True, etc.

Bahamas...Jamaica...who cares? The swinging (and over the shoulder) microphone helps perpetuate "that" stereotype about blacks. Funny thing is that I know a lot of whites who can pull off these impersonations....but if they did it on stage, they'd be risking their lives!

I'm Italian, and I think Eddie Murphy is a comic genius. Not in the least bit offended. He's pretty accurate. Most Italians have a great sense of humor and would give this a "thumbs up."
