Formed in 2011 on a whim, High Fantastical was born when Irene mentioned that she was playing Chameleon Circuit's "Doctor What" on guitar. When Keely stated that she was playing that very song on the uke, an idea was born. She, Irene, and Lucas had decided to do a YouTube collab at some point, and (unrelatedly) it was pointed out that Lucas played stylophone (among other things), which (coincidentally) made it possible to cover the version of Doctor What posted on Charlie McDonnell's YouTube. The group was formed after all three members suggested covering other songs as well as writing original material. After a long struggle involving band names, the three settled on today's name, High Fantastical. It's a Shakespeare reference.
Lucas Spears: He plays piano, stylophone, and melodica, and is also a good singer. He does YouTube music under the name of snailkit.
Keely Wednesday: She plays ukulele and sings too.
Irene Alder: She plays electric guitar, as well as being in charge of graphic design for the band. She does sketch comedy at InsaneSheepFilms.
