A hybrid web series/sitcom about what college life is actually like, removed from the cliche of direct to Comedy Central movies. College is not wild frat parties, but searching to find a party. Not winding up with a different girl every week, but hoping against hope that at least one will notice you. Not a place where brains or looks are the most important thing, only friends. Centered around a group of friends probably closer to the ones you know than the ones on Gossip Girl, Higher Education combines the back-and-forth dialogue, flippant profanity and overblown characters of the web series with the running gags, editing and storylines of the single-camera sitcom. Created by Eric Looney & Brennan Kerr and Steve Beebe, Higher Education stars Eric Looney, Steve Beebe, Justine Higgins, Charlotte Dow and Eric Greene, and is edited by Brennan Kerr. Season 1 is up now- Season 2 is coming fall 2011.

Just kidding.
Higher Education is filmed almost exclusively at the campus of Drexel University, in the city of Philadelphia. All other scenes are shot in the surrounding city, except for that pesky flashback in episode 3 where the original footage got corrupted and we had to film a whole new scene with less than half the cast. That was in Frederick, Maryland desperately pretending to be Philly. With the exception of Brennan Kerr, who is a film student at Towson University, everyone involved with Higher Education is a student at Drexel University. Eric Looney, Justine Higgins, Liz Pollack and Chris Martin (four of the show's writers) as well as Charlotte Dow and Julia Bristow are screenwriting/playwriting majors, and cinematographers Jesse Wolff, Liam Holleran and Josh Brede are film and video majors.
