Our Mission: To create all inclusive coalitions to secure equal rights through Service, Action, Visibility, and Education in local communities. The acronym for the four points is S.A.V.E.

Our Vision: A world free of discrimination with equal rights and dignity for all.

We are recruiting you to be a human and equal rights organizer.

What is H.E.R.O?

We where formed in early November 2008 after the passage of prop 102 in Arizona and Prop 8 in California., both defining marriage between man and a women. We realized at that point, our community needed to be more visible and educated about the issues that we face. HERO does this by holding monthly town hall education panels, doing community service, and holding other events and rallies. We incorporated as a non- profit in Arizona in early 2010, and are in the process of filling the 501(c)(3) paperwork with the IRS.

The HERO Steering Committee is a all volunteer, grassroots, group of community organizers and leaders with diverse backgrounds. As a board we meet monthly usually the 2nd Thursday of the month , however please check our calender for specific date in time.

ORGANIZATIONAL STATEMENT OF NON-VIOLENCE

1.We will use no violence, physical or verbal, towards any person
2.We will not use classist, racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, or otherwise hateful language
3.We will carry no weapons or other dangerous articles on our persons
4.We will not bring or use any alcohol or illegal drugs
5.We will not destroy property
6.No matter the circumstances of provocation, we will not threaten others with physical harm nor respond with physical violence to acts directed against us
7.We will adhere as closely as we are able to the letter and spirit of truth in our spoken and written statements
8.We will take responsibility for and accept the reasonable legal and other consequences of our actions, and will not seek to evade these consequences beyond legitimate recourse
9.We will not run from or otherwise attempt to evade law enforcement officials
10.We will minimize or eliminate any pollution or other harm to the environment that our activities could cause
