i had a really small hermit crab but he passed away :(

Hey! This is Alice, I have three hermit crabs, all Purple Pincher. I've been keeping them in a poor cage....
they have absolutely...uh no humidity, maybe a little. I know its bad but would it kill them? like dangerous?
and do hermit crabs HAS to molt under earth? Cause i dont have substrate for them. i bought them hermit crab sands but they didnt seem to like it...they came out much less than before and i saw one trying to brush the sands on their legs, yeah....

Anyway, I might be getting a new one, I'm thinking about Ecuadorian or Strawberry.

i just got 2 crabs yesterdayand one is a hair larger, but he took the shell of the small one and took it for himself. now the smaller one has his old shell, but is now very shy and timid and his big claw is always open. and also their always under the substrate, i think its beacuse were i got them there was very little sand and they coulnt dig. any tips?

Hi Kimberly, my name is David and I recently got three hermit crabs. I really want to make them comfortable and happy. The conditions I have them in are as follows, a 40 liter tank, t rex cypress bed (like three inches of the stuff) their two water things, food dish (currently with banana)and two branches, unheated (current area temperature having a high of 82 plus my room is the warmest in the house) I will get them a heater, but at this time it would cook them.

Please advice me on how to improve this. I will post a video later today for further reference.

My friend has two hermits and he has half sand and half wood flakes (just small, thin chips of wood). Would the wood flakes hurt the hermit crabs?

Can you make videos just watching your hermit crabs play?
