@ravenel2 Me too!! Like he's the only one who actually perceives that Rochester is wooing Jane, not Blanche (though Edward isn't very subtle about it) Eshton's the 'enlightened' character in every sense of the word :)

actually love the bit when they come in from the rain and he just can't let her go, keeps pulling her in for one more kiss. You just get the full force of how happy and exhilerated they are!

First time I saw this, I was also like 'Wha?? Snogging on the bed..when did that happen???' but now I actually think it's an original take on the leaving scene...it shows Rochester's passionate despair not in an aggressive way, just highly intense...and I love how his face crumbles just for a spl...

I'm on an Austen binge this week...should be studying, instead I keep watching and rewatching old period dramas!!

I love the newest adaptations, but I can appreciate these old ones too, they have a charm of their own!

Oh my God I looooove this ending so much!! It's my favourite adaptation and I've seen nearly all! Toby Stephens as Rochester just got something about him, that certain something that actually makes you believe and understand why Jane fell for him...

I was the same...very suspicious of this version, but then I loved so much...watching it for the second time now and it's even better!! So detailed and true to the book!! The Sullivan films are good in their own way, like visually stunning etc. but the BBC are just the best at Literary adaptation...
