Hello Tokyo is a female fronted, power-pop experience from Brooklyn, NY.
Starting almost on a whim, Kat (vocals) and John (bass/guitar) wrote a handful of songs after finding a long forgotten 4-track recorder. Enjoying the chemistry, they decided to bring those songs to a live setting in their then hometown of Washington, DC. Shortly after, Sam joined as the drummer for Hello Tokyo, providing unique rhythms that couple with the energetic vocals and accessible musicality, and they soon found themselves developing an excellent foundation of fans, press and relationships with local venues. While maintaining these D.C. relations, Hello Tokyo began branching out by performing in NYC and Philadelphia, and have been doing so regularly for the past 3 years. During their trips north, Hello Tokyo fell in love with NYC, decided to make it home and pursue the band full-time. So they quit their jobs, loaded the van and moved to Brooklyn, NY and have been vigorously writing and performing since.
Hello Tokyo will embark on a U.S. Tour April/May 2008 supporting the release of their new album "Sell the Stars" due out April 22, 2008.
