Hello, my name is Joseph Murphy. At the end of July, 2007, I moved to Chicago. Inspired by the city, I began writing new songs. Experimenting with instruments and time signatures I previously failed to explore, I soon found myself making the music I have always wanted to make. My upcoming EP, A Night at the Optimist's Club, is the result of these explorations.
Recorded at home in a humble bedroom studio, the five songs on the EP musically surpass everything I have done in the past. I am very excited to share them. On January 15th it will finally be released, and I could not be happier. Thank you for your patience, and I hope to see you out on the road.
