Design Practice
Brief
You have been asked to design a ten pin bowling alley to take
account of blind customers.
Format
Working in teams, you have an hour and 15 minutes to come up
with your design. At the end of the session each team will be invited
to present their design back to the group.
Data
There is no primary or secondary data to work with so you may find
it helpful to list the assumptions that you are making during the
design process. You can refer to these to explain your decisions
when your designs are presented back to the group.
Scope
The brief is deliberately large and vague for the purposes of this
exercise. Feel free to focus on a particular aspect of the task or to
provide an overview of the entire experience. Again, you may want
to list the different elements that you think will make up the
bowling experience.
Deliverables
At the end of the session you will be asked to present your ideas to
the group. The format of your presentation is entirely up to you.
You may, for example, choose to present your solution as a role-
play, as a series of screens, or as a storyboard.
