There's a thing called enhanced tuning so I used that to make that wavy effect, and for the chorus parts I just sang three parts and layered it.

It's all about the lighting man.  If you just spot that light on a subject, then the under exposed background becomes black. You need a camera like the HV20 to pull it off well though.
