I am the founder of the Heart of Sailing Foundation. From a mission in Haiti to a charity in America I have big dreams of sharing my passion and knowledge of sailing with children. Heart of Sailing introduces sailing to special needs children and adults as form of education and recreational therapy. The program is group and family oriented and FREE for all.
As a native of Beirut, a citizen of France (my Father's homeland), and an American now for the past 24 years, I first honed my skills as a child on the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean. I have traveled extensively, expanding my understanding of various world cultures, sailing both single, dual and tri-hulled craft on the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas waters, European and American lakes. I love sharing my multi-lingual/multicultural heritage with others.
In my real life, I am a retired successful entrepreneur, respected software engineer and computer expert who has developed programs and systems for private clients and large corporations. My noted achievements include Office Suite, a customer-relations management software package, on the cutting edge since its early stages, providing complex data and information management for clients.
I became interested in creating a sailing education foundation, as a result of my own family's experience with a loved one who is cognitively impaired. I chose to focus the foundation on providing services to similar children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience the thrill and the therapeutic benefits of sailing. By creating an international foundation, I hope to reach children not only in the United States, but those in countries where such programs do not currently exist.

Sailing, travel, eating, riding my motorcycle, driving top down on winding roads (don't ask me how fast), restore old things (cars, wooden boats, motorcycles...), troubleshooting, creating solutions, always on the go.
Meeting people, learning about new (for me) cultures, introducing the benefits of sailing to the special need families, enjoy getting everyone calm and smiley around me, did I mention traveling to new places :)
