Ayurveda - Art of Being
Ayurveda is probably the world's oldest continually practiced holistic healthcare system, a means to a more balanced state of mental and physical wellbeing. This film follows various Indian practitioners of this revitalized discipline as they apply the ancient doctrines in this age of nuclear power, the internet and instant everything.
Originating in India and then spreading to Egypt, Greece, Rome, Tibet, China, Russia and Japan, Ayurveda is estimated to be between 2500 and 5000 years old. It is the Science of Life, specifically referring to harmonious integration of the body, mind, senses and spirit, an art of living, an art of being.
Some Ayurveda and Ayurvedic formulas did make it to the West and Far East, including one for haircare using fruit products from which the word "shampoo" originated. European surgeons started to practice Indian techniques to repair damage to the face from battle, thus fostering the discipline we call plastic surgery. Acupuncture, Tibetan medicine and "Zen" meditation all derived from Ayurvedan science. Thus, Ayurveda has for centuries affected our existence regardless of where we live.
Mark Blanchard: Progressive Power Yoga
We all live in the illusion of the three dimensional world...but deep inside, the meaning of life is to participate fully in the play...all the while knowing you are in the audience. Another way of seeing it is to live in the moment, stay present and participate fully in life...that is where Progressive Power Yoga is so valuable. Unlike Pilates, Spinning, Running, Swimming, Kickboxing or any other form of exercise, yoga provides a mental and spiritual component that is not found in the other exercise regimen. An actress may want to find the essential stimuli from which to draw at a key moment in her performance. An athlete may find themselves with time expanding as they must make the split second decision upon which everything rests. Again...that is where Progressive Power Yoga is without peers. It is an all-encompassing training regimen that consistently generates results that are unparalleled.
Professional athletes are regularly surprised by how advanced the practice of yoga truly is, especially given how ancient it is. For over 5000 years we have watched yoga continue to manifest through various forms and practices. There were never levels. No music. Just you and your breath. The ujjayi breath is all important, and the focus of you and your breath has far deeper implications than one would first allow.
The breath is your lifeforce, coming and exiting. A flow of energy that is so inherent that you forget to tap it but it is always there...even as you sleep. So as you craft your athletic prowess, to fail to hone your breath into the complete program is an oversight of tremendous magnitude. The breath is central to everything. Especially if you have the soul of a warrior.
Mark Blanchard's Progressive Power Yoga Vol.1 (96 mins)
While training athletes and celebrities, veteran yogi Mark Blanchard has created this life-transforming fitness regimen to help you sculpt maximum muscle and gain more flexibility and overcome stiffness by rotating three different routines each week.
Since the human body adapts to the same workout after only 6-8 weeks, and the physical benefits decrease just as quickly, doing only one routine isn't sufficient to constantly challenge and re-shape the body. Do each of these three fat-burning, muscle-toning videos at least once a week and you may never need another exercise routine.
Perfect for all fitness levels and body types, this athletic practice is an ultimate body-mind-spirit exercise system. With more than 2,000 poses available, Mark has designed three innovative, diverse yoga programs that could burn more calories, build leaner muscles and reduce more stress than jogging, stepping, or kickboxing. You will love how you feel and look after doing these amazingly effective workouts.
Mark Blanchard's Progressive Power Yoga, Volume 2 (96 mins) In Volume 2, the comprehensive workout continues. Tests show that repeating the same workout on a daily basis will cause your body to hit a plateau in its development. However, if you do each of these three workouts throughout the week, you will continue to progress. I use students of all range of experience so that you will always have someone to watch. It is completely acceptable to fall in your practice. It happens to me too. Allow it to be and let go of your attachment to the outcome. Instead, please recognize that I did not make these to be an easy workout that you can breeze through. This is a challenge. Just do what you can, rest or go easier during the other parts. Eventually you will be doing all of it. In the mean- time, allow yourself the luxury of enjoying. Yoga is about nurturing your soul.
Mark Blanchard's Progressive Power Yoga, Volume 3 (100 mins)
If you have arrived at Volume 3, I will avoid all redundancies. This is a workout you will rotate. This particular volume will be a challenge. Cool. Embrace it. Allow it. And learn from it by letting go of any attachment to outcome. You are today exactly where you are supposed to be. If you can truly understand and embrace that philosophy, than my workouts are for you. I would lose all of the pleasure in creating these videos for my clients and students if I knew that they were fostering frustration in a soul that was so determined to be perfect that they lost sight of the road along the journey. Celebrate your life. Yoga is about nurturing your soul. Treaure it.

Maya Fiennes: Journey through the Chakras
This is the first of 3 DVDs Courage of Kundalini Yoga With Maya Fiennes - Courage, Creativity And Willpower and it is the first of three DVD sets of the series Journey through the Chakras.
A powerful mix of Kundalini yoga practices with meditation & mantras that will help you to balance the upper and lower Chakras. In this 3 DVD boxset Maya takes you on a journey through the first 3 Chrakras, Courage, Creativity & Willpower, introducing a new practice for each Chakra.
The lower triangular Chakras focus on elimination and are balanced by the upper triangular Chakras which accumulate, create and refine. So like the tree, if the root system is functioning properly then the leaves begin to grow and flourish. By opening and balancing the Chakras it is possible to connect to a larger source of energy, from which we come and to which we return. The first five Chakras are associated with the elements; tatvas, earth, water, fire, air and ether. And the upper Chakras correspond to the subtle realm.
The emotions linked to each Chakra can be listed as follows:
1. First Chakra -- Courage
2. Second Chakra -- Creativity
3. Third Chakra -- Willpower
4. Fourth Chakra -- Love
5. Fifth Chakra -- Truth
6. Sixth Chakra -- Wisdom
7. Seventh Chakra -- Bliss
The New Method Baby and Mom Prenatal Yoga
Relaxing, strengthening, and allowing oneself to feel rather than think have long been associated with ancient yoga practice. Instructor Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa expertly ties this essential combination of physical experiences together in a gentle exercise video for pregnant women of all fitness levels. Prior to the 45-minute routine, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa discusses the role of yoga in helping with pregnancy; the calm and security that develop through guided breathing and gentle movement are transferred from the mother's body to her growing baby. The nonimpact routine itself provides ample warm-up, toning, and conditioning portions, as well as a deep, head-to-toe relaxation and visualization segment. Ten pregnant students (all pleasantly unrehearsed) stretch, bend, and learn along with the viewer, to the peaceful sounds of a live band consisting of wood flute, bass, quiet drum, and shimmering bells. Every bit as enriching for the soul as it is for the body.
