Nobody plays better than him especially for Mendelssohn.
I think the recording with Abado in 1972 would be the best.

Perhaps this is one of the best recording for Beethoven's concerto. Fantastic playing!! This is recorded in 1959, if my memory is correct. The other recordings for Beethoven by Oistrakh are not that good.(somewhat too fast) The tempo in this recording is very much controlled(much slower) and very...
