About this user
The history of Health Care Systems Corporation can be traced back to 1975 when Healthcare Systems, Inc. was formed as a partnership between several long term care providers to offer mainframe service bureau data processing. The introduction of long term care software running on Fortune computers with Berkley Unix allowed the company to move from a service bureau to a software provider. Eventually the mainframe was replaced and the Unix software went through several evolutions from ATT System V to SCO and finally Linux.
In 2004, as a result of an acquisition, Healthcare Systems, Inc. became Health Care Systems Corporation as four ex-IBM partners saw potential to combine new technology with an existing and mature LTC solution. The Unix based software was soon replaced with the current state of the art ASP/SaaS solution, HCare1.
Other new products are in the works as Health Care Systems continues to grow with new leadership and looks forward to another 30 years of service to the medical and long term care industry.
