I am continually impressed with how well this works. You listen to it and it's as if this is what both songs were supposed to be all along.

Just checking, is it supposed to freeze 9 seconds in at the word "frozen"? I mean, if so, LOL, but if not....

ending sentences with de arimasu--instead of desu or da--is something you would normally do in formal academic essays (as de aru, but you know). Thus it sounds stiff/excessively formal/robotic. (Mitsuru's dad is the only other character who does this in speech, using de aru.)

@godzilltrain, you are sadly mistaken. Fill a glass 2/3 full with ice cubes, and then add water all the way to the brim. All of the ice cubes are floating, but all of them are at least partially underwater--most of them fully underwater.

@hardon70 "I think lesbianism has made some progress over the years" that is part of the point: that in the 90s it was a lot harder to find other lesbian/bi women, and riskier. So in that context, it's still a little silly, but it's not absurd the way it would be about a straight woman in 2011.

Sam Adama is emblematic of what's wrong with the series. Fans complained--rightly--about the lack of queer characters/POC and male-centrism of BSG, so they added queer people, POC,

& women to the show, but they maintained those characters as homophobic/misogynistic/racist stereotypes (to appease ...

The disconnect between the marketing--which positions the viewer as a customer of the Dollhouse, and is incredibly objectifying--and the show itself--which has its problems but certainly isn't *that*--indicates a huge conflict between Fox and Whedon about what the show should look like.
