A singer-songwriter, born in New York City, and recently transplanted to the suburbs, Hayes is inspired by artists such as Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Cat Stevens, Jeff Buckley and M. Ward. By jotting down lines or piecing together progressions and fragments of the people, places and events around him the songs take form, sometimes as a story, memory, narrative or even a surrealistic vision or dream. Playing shows all around the city, armed with only an acoustic guitar and a few songs in his backpocket, he aims not only to entertain people but connect with them and evoke emotion through his craft. Currently, he is recording his first professional studio work, and earnestly hopes that he can bring something special to you through his songs.
