You can buy the full film DVD at the above Ebay link, which is approximately one a half hours duration. As you can see from this YouTube edit, it is a special occasion well captured. There is so much more on the DVD and it looks great on a big TV screen.
This is a collectors' limited edition DVD of a great film made recently at Europes oldest horse show in the Irish rural town of Ballinasloe, in the West of Ireland, Galway.
(we are the only legal and authorised seller of this DVD worldwide, we are the producers of this DVD)
The film runs for approximately one and half hours duration. The several days for the filming were blessed with magnificent weather so the film is a great record.
Every October crowds of people numbering up to 100,000 gather for the Ballinasloe Horse Fair, which takes place over several days during October each year, the next one takes place - October 4th until October 12th 2008 in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.
There are many horses which stand out at this show, and the characters you meet there are one of a kind.
In this limited edition film, there are interviews with breeders, traders, buyers and competitors on the fair green about what they do, how much they sell their horses for, what the show is all about, and so on.
This film was received very well by the hardened, no rubbish! characters who have watched it over here in Ireland, feedback was excellent, and I'm very happy to have made this film for those who are passionate about horses and this ancient cultural gathering.
The images here show pictures from the film to give you an immediate impression of what is contained in the DVD.
The film was recorded using a high definition televison broadcast quality camera and I have years of broadcast tv cameraman experience, so the quality is excellent.
The DVD begins with the gradual build up of this annual event, showing the fair green before it turns to brown earth under the tens of thousand of hooves, it's really about showing the horses and people socialising there, catching the spirit of this great event.
This DVD is limited in edition, I have personally hand-printed the box covers and disk labels with my limited edition stamp, so it is a geniune collectors item and will be different from any future versions I may produce.
I personally enjoy making films that interest the unique characters who go to these ancient horse gatherings, they certainly wouldn't be down in the local film rental store very often, so I bring them their film at various gatherings around Ireland, and they enjoy it.
In 1804, the London Times newspaper described the Ballinasloe October Fair as "the largest of its kind in Europe", today the fair is still the largest fair in Europe of its kind.
You will get a real taste for what's special about these ancient Irish horse gatherings by watching this film, Ballinasloe is the big one and it's mighty craic!
While watching this film your eyes will sizzle like a couple of fried eggs on a hot pan!
FREE POSTAGE anywhere WORLDWIDE is included in the price, so simply BUY IT NOW! go to the DVD sale page by clicking the blue link above. Enjoy!
