One way to slow down the tape to the CORRECT pitch is to adjust the speed when the music is playing. Get a guitar in tune and adjust the speed until the song is exactly in a key like E or G or ? assuming the band was in tune.

This song was also recorded by Ronnie Spector under the name 'Veronica' in 1964 on the Phil Spector label (not Philles). I think there are only a few releases on this rare offshoot label.

Holy cow! Robbin people with a......ZIP GUN !!! I know everybody including me thought it was a six gun. What a revelation. If you did not know, a zip gun is a crude, home-made gun that fires one bullet. Sonny Curtis also wrote many other great songs.

Rays Records was a San Diego, California record store in the 1950s owned by Ray Robinson (not the boxer) and besides this beautiful ballad, the yellow label Rays also put out singles by Marvin & Johnny and Smokey Hogg.

This is a 45 by Roy on the Bomarc label from the early 1960s. You might also want to hear singles by Bobby Gregg & His Friends: The Jam, parts 1& 2 and Pototo Pealer. Roys guitar is screamin!

The congas start out fighting the slow blues guitar but eventually Hendrix gives in and plays in time to the nutty conga beat.

Jimi had a unique sounding finger vibrato that is NOT on this music.

Left handed Jimi is on the left because his guitar sticks out the other way from the right handed players. also, that's a Fender Jazzmaster, not a Jaguar he's playing.

For some odd reason, the LP doesn't have the cool backup singers on this song singing on the chorus: Down the Hall, Over the Wall, Thru the Grass, and that rhymes with Now Run, Run Real Fast. Also there is no siren and machine gun at the intro. Other than that, it's the same recording as the 45...
