You need to improve your technique when releasing fish... the less you handle them the better. might I suggest a Kethcum Release ? It allows you to keep the fish in the water and not touch them.

This same Knife was issued to me in USN pilot training....I had heard that the MFR got it wrong--the hook was was supposed to be auto--The auto feature did not survive a month...some didn't last the day of issue..we opened them several hundred times , playing West Side Story etc///
