it is remarkable that RG's performance is almost note to note to his recording. I know he is singing this live. In an age that performers today many times do not sound like their recordings when in concert, it is refreshing to see a true professional.

Interesting that James Burton was not in this video (ditto for a different bass player as well). This song was recoded at a time that Rick was trying to branch out to newer music. Another great one from this period is "Mighty Good."

Rick looked like he was truly enjoying this song.

Jerry sang the song exactly as he had sung it in the original production in 1960. I thought the scarf was a nice touch, as he wore one of those as well when he played "El Gallo." He could do it all.

Saw MR as that young Bibi in The Happy Time on Broadway. He was perfectly cast and that personality still shines through.

Nice job with this little known song. The entire score is a marvel, but the book of 'Kean' was the problem. Wish it could be reworked.

Watching Jan Clayton and John Raitt. who originated these roles 9 years prior to this performance, is a marvel. I was familar with Mr. raitt, having seen him perform on the road years ago. Absolutely the best single performance of this difficult song. Raitt truly was peerless and shows his chops here. At this time he appeared in a Broadway show called "Three Wishes for Jamie." He was a tour de force in that show and that is a must-hear for any of his fans. it's available on cd.

What a fabulous duo. Jack got his start in the biz by performing with his Dad. It obviously was a loving family, great to see particularly in the rough and tumble world of entertainment.

That may just be his best recording of his signature song post-broadway. i exclude the original version he did on the Original broadway cast album, as that is a classic.
