hi,
i'm Harmen from Belgium and I play the tin whistle not for quite a long time, and I don't go to sessions and lessons to learn to play the tin whistle. I actually adore Celtic music and Ireland as well for it's traditions and it's habbits, but i thought that playing irish music was difficult and hard, seeing the artists playing fast and without mistakes. but the tin whistle isn't that hard, unless you don't practise. I had some kind of teacher: RyanDunsSJ, member of youtube who has produced several video's about tin whistle. I needed sheet music so I surfed to www.whistlethis.com and www.thesession.org.
because there is not much interest in the tin whistle in Belgium i would like to change that because it's a wonderful instrument and very easy to learn, even without reading notes. luckely for me, my music teacher plays the tin whistle :d lucky me.

keep on going to play tin whistle, and even if you have a hard moment learning a tune, let it go for an hour or so, and start all over. it helps, believe me.
