It reads like the genesis of a convulsing volcano: a band forged out of the crucible of conflict, upheaval and unreleased tension.""we initially went through a lot of difficulties in putting this band togethe," says Zulqarnain , the de facto founder, vocalist and keyboard player. "I kept thinking about how dramatic this band was! hance, the name." The Dramatic are, in their own words, a KL-based "electro/powerpop/electronic" outfit with an absessive affinity for peppering their songs with chiptune is essentially synthesised sound associated with anachronistic video games like Gameboy or Atari. The Theatrics of the band's conception are on full display on propulsive. danceable gems like 'Cinta Frekuansi"-an urgently squelching, blipping, epileptic piece of pop smithery that bodes well for the niche they are looking to hack in the immediate indie scene. 'Satu Kata" sees them segueing into New Order-like balladry-replete with stephem Morrisesque one-two drum tap fills and a chorus that begs for sing-along.
