Dear gun lovers:
Last year, the Supreme Court, in D.C. v. Heller, struck down D.C.'s handgun ban. Obama said he would honor the Court's decision. He has to.
Obama declined to reinstate the assault weapons ban or several occasions, once in response to Mexico's President requesting the assault weapons ban as a means to stifle Mexican drug cartels.
The Obama/Democrat controlled Congress passed a law permitting guns in national parks.
The Obama/Democrat controlled Congress is now working on a law that would require states to honor concealed handgun licenses from sister states, even when that particular state has no concealed handgun law! (unlikely to pass however).
As some people keep insisting,"Your gun rights are under attack!" I think it's safe to assume that's a lie.
What did gun lovers do in response to this fabricated, non-existent anti-gun administration??? We bought mass quantities of handgun ammunition, created a dangerous shortage (affecting many police departments, including the San Antonio PD) and drove the price of handgun ammunition up nearly 250% in less than a year. Last year, I could buy 100 rounds of 9mm target ammo for $16. Today, that same 100 rounds costs around $55, assuming you can find anyone selling ammo. Put simply, gun owners self-imposed a 250% tax on handgun ammunition and virtually depleted the retail handgun ammunition market. Had the assault weapons ban been reinstated, it would have mandated the 10 round maximum (Clinton) magazines for semi-autos; no 250% tax and no ammunition shortage. In other words, a gullible gun owner is his own worse enemy.
I have not been able to purchase ammo at Wal-Mart for 7 months. Bass Pro Shops now sells dozens of handguns (up from the less than 10 it carried last year), but you cannot buy a single bullet for "any" of the handguns they sell. Amazing!
Please help stop the national handgun ammo shortage. There are many gun nuts like me who are in the market for a bullet or two, and I'm not fond of paying triple what I did just a year ago. So put off that trip to the range; let your tactical shooting club membership expire; shoot that burglar once, a head shot if possible. Save your ammo. We need to take 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP bullets off of the endangered ammunition list. So the next time you want to send a few rounds down range, don't. Stay at home and relax. Read a book. Read a newspaper; you just might find an article about all the anti-gun legislation that doesn't exist.
Your gun rights are not under attack. In fact, gun rights are being expanded. So stop buying up all the damn bullets!!!
Thank you,
"Because a gun without bullets is just a high-priced hammer."
