About the Hang:
The Hang doesn't fit into a simple category. The materials, design, and function are all unique and always evolving. The short history of the Hang opens a doorway into infinite possibilities that invites a story to be told instead of simplistic categorizations. It's a tale of extraordinary innovation, creativity, and integrity....brimming with intrigue and enchantment. It explores multi-cultural traditions and a futuristic vision all at once. My sometimes annual visits to the Hangbauhaus in Bern, Switzerland have deepened my appreciation for this unique "sound sculpture" and the two brilliant artists who have brought it to life and continue to advance its evolution. I hope to share this story in more detail with you at a live performance. In the meantime, the sounds of the Hang will speak volumes so enjoy the samples on my website:
