One thing I will say is, you can look at a song from the 80s and say, "that sounds soooo 80s". It was a very stylised decade, the 1990s and 2000s were comparitively personality-less (especially 2000s). There was still alot of awful music around though

It almost sounds like Flight of the Conchords doing a pastiche of mid 90s Britpop, in retrospect....
