Country boy living in a small city.
Raised on a small ranch (1,180 acres) in Irion County, Texas. Currying horses, cleaning saddles, repairing bridles, mucking stalls, cattle round-up, sheep shearing, rattlesnakes, milking the dairy cow, birthing hogs, birthing hogs, birthing sheep, birthing cattle, birthing hogs, birthing hogs, feeding chickens, slaughtering deer/hogs/steer..., butchering, saddling up to ride for a day to visit a friend on the next ranch, fence repair, stretching barb wire, digging fence post (8+ miles of fence), repair windmills, cactus, mesquite, clean out water tanks and troughs, chores before dawn, a keen understanding of how many stars are visible in the night sky, the Milky-Way, raising an abandoned newborn animal with a baby bottle, repair a wild birds broken wing - tending it for weeks - digging worms - mashing worms - feeding it worms - and watching it fly away, entering an animal at the fair, sometimes winning, Friday Night Football, helping neighbors, being a part of something special.
Trying to be the best person I know how to be. I stumble often, fall occasionally, and with the help of family and friends manage to rise and move forward. I shall strive to look back and learn. Joys in life come from all directions, each a blessing, each a treasure; balanced with enough pains to enable me to grow in unexpected ways.
