My name's Sean Terry and I make movies. Here are a few of my films for you to enjoy.
Name: Sean
Age: 24
I'm an auteur-style filmmaker from Hawaii, former student of Chapman University in Orange, CA. Most of my films are comedies, but I often incorporate heavy amounts of violence and depending on the seriousness of the work, pathos. I write and direct primarily, but I dabble in editing, sound design, and martial arts choreography as well. I prefer a small, interchangeable crew consisting of friends, but I've found the studio way of making films to be agreeable with me as well--as long as I can retain my creative control, of course.

ALL of my films are made with little or no money, using creativity to circumvent the lack of resources. Imagine what I could do with an actual budget on my side!

My favorite director in the whole world and biggest influence is Hideo Kojima. Other favorites include Joss Whedon, Sam Raimi, Ryuhei Kitamura, Christopher Nolan, John Ford, Akira Kurosawa, Sergio Leone, Sabu, Wes Anderson, Kevin Smith, Kazuhiro Furuhashi, and Bryan Singer.

My favorite genre is probably the superhero film; there may be many bad ones, but the few gems really shine. By extension, I am also a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy. As you may be able to tell, I love comedy, but rarely watch them because so many of them are terrible. Regardless of genre, I tend to love anything character driven and will worship any fight scene choreographed by Yuen Woo Ping. His style of choreography is my Bible and I hate any fight scene in which you can't see the action, composed entirely in the editing room with blurry close-ups of individual limbs (I'm looking at you, Batman Begins!). Wire work is a useful tool, but I believe it should be kept to an absolute minimum. I'm all for stunt manatees, however; why risk harming an actor by flinging them through a fake brick wall when you could shoot a manatee dressed as the actor through a real one with a customized air cannon? No one can tell the difference.

Be sure to check out The Tale of Logan! It's the feature film I made when I was 18, sequel to my debut film, Winning Style.

What price would you pay for a lucid dream? Come along for a metaphysical ride as our hero embarks on a journey of the mind where nothing is as it seems!

This is my submission for Project Makeshift, which you'll notice does not contain any martial arts fight scenes, ninjas, lasers, or robots. I further challenged myself by staying away from heavy VFX and I deliberately did not use my software of choice (Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects). What you have before you is a story-driven, philosophical piece meant to engage as well as entertain. I hope you like it!

Thanks to YouTube's inconsistently-enforced ten minute cutoff rule, I had to split this film into two pieces. For an uninterrupted version, click on this link or paste it into your browser (recommended):
