I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have been most of my life.
I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church, of Joseph Smith as a Prophet of God, and of the Book of Mormon, which I have gained by studying the scriptures and by the feelings of the Spirit. I gained that testimony during a period of inactivity from the Church, when due to the persecutions I was experiencing through my teens I questioned everything about the Church, to know for sure if it was true.
Those years of study have helped me a lot with the lessons I have taught in the Priesthood class for the past fives years I have been back active, though I have probably bored the class members with constant reminders of the benefit of studying the scriptures as often as possible, as it helped me to come to the knowledge of the truth of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I am also writing a book at the moment about the Gospel due to my childhood experiences and the subsequent years of study I embarked on, in order to help those who are investigating or are new converts to the Church, to aid them in understanding what the scriptures say in answer to the questions raised by those who are critical of the doctrines of the Church.
Whether it gets published or not, it has been a worthwhile endeavour to get testimony down in black and white.
At this current time I am a listening volunteer at Samaritans.
