Small town rockers with a big city sound, Hailey and Shawn are a rising talent on the local modern country music scene. With a wide range of cover songs as well as an array of originals, Hailey and Shawn are fast rising stars on the Southern-Tier music scene.
Together since the summer of 2008, the duo has grown into a full band with brothers Cody and Carter on drums and bass and become regular favorites at venues throughout the Binghamton area. The band recently recorded a re-mix of their single "It's Love" for inclusion in an upcoming independent film being produced by Pig in the Python productions based in Southbury, Connecticut. Now the band will be releasing a 5 song EP, "After the Rain", they recorded at New Clear Studios. Since winning the local round of the 98.1 The Hawk's Colgate Country Showdown Contest in both 2009 and 2010,as well as the 2010 New York State Competition, the group has achieved a level of success rare for a teenage rock band. Most recently, Hailey and Shawn have opened for John Michael Montgomery, Julia Burton, Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Gracin and Cassidy Lynn. They have performed at the Spiedie Fest, Blueberry Fest, Canoe Regatta, Rec Park Music Fest, Chenango County Fairgrounds, Morris Fairgrounds, The Hideout, Nathaniel's Pub, The Hitchin' Post, The Potter's House, Black Bear Winery, The Belden Hill Golf Coarse, The Stadium, The Honky Tonk, Annie's Bar and Grill, the Super Celebration in Harpursville, Endicott Performing Arts Center, Cyber Café West, NYS Fair, and as hosts of KNOW Theatre's open stage night. The group has also made several trips to Nashville taking the stage at Tootsie's, The Listening Room Café, Legend's Corner, and The Stage.
Both from the small town of Harpursville, Hailey and Shawn have been active in music all of their young lives. Hailey has been singing since she was a child and started writing songs at the age of 11. She picked up the guitar in 2007 and taught herself before teaming up with Shawn. Shawn, a guitarist since the age of 7, joined Hailey on the mic after beginning to work together as musicians in the summer of 2008. The duo then began perfecting their skills at Johnson City's "Rock Shop" program for young musicians and have been gigging together ever since.
Young, talented, ambitious, and energetic, Hailey and Shawn are on their way to putting their mark on the local music scene. Don't let their age fool you, Hailey and Shawn are names you're going to be hearing a lot in the coming years.
