WHY I DON'T CAPITALIZE
it has come to my attention that many people on youtube believe my grammatical prowess to be inferior based solely on the fact that i do not capitalize initial letters in sentences in my youtube comments. this is utterly uninformed rubbish, and i shall explain: youtube is what i view as an informal setting, and as such, i feel the need to mark this informality. the way i choose to do it is by not capitalizing. some of you idiots have called my grammatical and linguistic skills into question simply because i do not capitalize. now you may recognize that i have a specific, sophisticated reason for not doing so. in addition, capitalization is a convention of written grammar, which has nothing to do with the spoken language, and therefore has no bearing on my linguistic skill set. in any case, capitalization is a prescriptive grammatical convention, and true linguists are interested in descriptive grammar, the opposite of the former, and flout prescriptive rules as and when necessary. in conclusion, you are a dumbass if you continue to point out my lack of capitalization as evidence for my supposed lack of intelligence.
