@dummytree Hello. Yeah, that was my point as someone asked if it was the singer of "Dear God." I think Colin gets slighted for his excellent songs. Just my opinion and yes, I like Andy Partridge's songs as well, so please no haters. XTC are excellent.

Realize that this is just one man's opinion but I find nothing wrong with this. I think the MC5 is excellent and the Liverpool Five is good but it's not fuzzy enough. After hearing Them I feel the need for fuzz. Ever hear REM do this? In their early days they played this. Worth searching for.

Hey Phunky, why does 1959Passions have the same label as yours, down to all the handwriting? By the way, this could possibly be the best Passions 45. Try to find a copy, it take awhile to do so. Thanks for posting again.

While I am not 100% sure, The Petites Ascot record that I have sounds more like a Girl-group sounding group and I thought it was not the same group as this. Anyone know for sure? The Ascot record is availasble on a girl group comp, maybe one of the "Girls Will Be Girls" comps. Nice post.

@stevelawner55 Yes, it's the same song but this one has more punch to my ears. The Flying Giraffe is more bubble gummy not that that's bad. I just prefer this one and played it backwards as a kid.

There is a difference in a band evolving and selling out. Their whole career evolved from JOhnny and The Self-Abusers. The first album was mostly guitar pop and even though you won't admit it "Don't You.." is better than most "With or Without you."

Hey I see a post here that says the band is too old to tour. Go see them and when you hear how they still sound, go back home and listen to you Bon Jovi records. The Dickies still rule at any age.

This song icalled "The Great Indoors" from their first CD. The Cd is excellent, hunt it down you won't be disappointed. New Cd comes out April/May 2011 !!

The whole album "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is as great as this version. Seek it out, you will not be disappointed.

Phunky, this song is one of the best songs never played on oldies radio but was a huge play hit in Philly. I remember hearing it on WFIL and WIBG. And I know I just dated myself but thanks again for posting an excellent record.
