About this user
h2dance (formed in 1999) presents the joint choreography and direction of Artistic Directors Hanna Gillgren (Sweden) and Heidi Rustgaard (Norway). Their work addresses political and gender issues with humour and irony to create dynamic and thought-provoking performance work. h2dance borrows its aesthetic from popular culture and combines movement with text, song and video, which directly communicates with an audience.
Together they have created a body of touring work which includes their latest acclaimed production "To Die For" (2007) that is currently touring the UK and Scandinavia, "På Gränsen" (2005) a new work for the Opera in Karlstad, Sweden, "Silent Movie" (2004) that recently toured the UK, "Faked" (2003),"Butterfly Belly" (2002) and "Ostrich" (2000). In 2004 they collaborated with Donald Hutera on "Choreographus Interruptus", commissioned and produced by Guardians of Doubt. In 2003 they collaborated with film maker Rachel Davies on "Gold", an Arts Council Capture film which won the prestigious IMZ Dance on Screen Award 2005. In 2003, Hanna and Heidi created a site-specific piece for the Six White Chairs strand of the Wapping Project. Their work for other companies include "Untitled" for Cie Gaara, Nairobi, "Storstark Cowboys" for Norrdans, Sweden and "Zygote" for Ludus Dance Company, UK.
