@conniejbaker I saw Kevin performing with a Christian rock band, Gungor, playing cello and beatboxing a few weeks ago. Gungor is a very mainstream Christian band, so its probably safe to say Kevin is of the same persuasion.

Shawn jumped out of his seat mid-song, Ben Folds gives a standing ovation and Sara drops the F-Bomb. This is probably the best review the judges have ever given in the history of the show.

I actually had grits with warm butter yesterday. And yes, it tasted like Christy sounds.

I love Ben, but did anyone else wish Sara would have just yanked him by the arm to stand up after this performance?

I think appealing to emotion while retaining the original arrangement requires the presuppostion that "We are going to do it better than the original artist!' I don't think the Aires offered anything that I could not have found on a Queen record....

Only two groups embodied a "real" country performance on the show, Dartmouth Aires and Urban Method. Last week, I wrote a criticism of Liz and Katie, stating my belief that Urban Method can't afford to depend on them anymore for leads because they had let the group down twice in a row. I thought this was a really great arrangement. The depth of Afro Blue, talent-wise is really impressive. Christy, who imho is their best singer, was not even featured in this performance, and yet I didn't even notice.

For the first two seasons, the judges rewarded groups that pushed the envelope, and I think Nota and Committed were easily the two groups that advanced the genre during their own seasons. Now, they seem to be rewarding people for well executed, but predictable and safe choices. Dartmouth Aires go...

I like that you outline the fact that the cross is considered foolishness to those outside of the Christian worldview (1 Cor. 1:18), because this is where I find a lot of miscommunication among theists and atheists (and everyone in between).
