About Me:

NOTE OF CLARIFICATION: I am Male, Heterosexual and I am NOT a member of any Motorcycle Club or organization. I apologize to any and all for any confusion that my youtube User-name may have caused. When I joined YouTube in 2007, I did not realize then that when you registered on YouTube and entered a Username that that Username is your Name for Life - you cannot revise or change it. Had I known that I would have taken a bit more care in choosing a name - and certainly would not have chosen one that is gender incorrect and confusing. The words " gypsy club lady " actually references song lyrics from a folksong that I heard a busker singing at a Street Fair over 30 years ago in the mid-1970's. A beautiful and haunting song. I only heard this song the One Time, and I never saw this particular street musician again. Still - Decades Later - I can still remember bits and pieces of the song lyrics. Now if I could JUST remember where I laid my glasses down just 5 minutes ago everything in my world would be peachy. Once again, I'm sorry if anyone has been confused by my Username.

ABOUT ME: If I had money, my friends would say I was ECCENTRIC. I do NOT have money therefore I would be Best Described as left-of-center and a bit ODD. myspace page/username: Steven Goshwow

Country:

Interests:
Treasure Hunting at Estate Sales . This passion requires Selling off excess stuff on eBay. There is Never Enuff Time ... I also find myself spending Way Too Much Time following links on the Web. I go to Confirm or to Retrieve one little factoid on Google and all of a sudden TWO HOURS have slipped by. I enjoy learning about Movie and Musical History and I find myself Entertained as well reading about tons of other, dissimilar things. There is just so Much useless,/arcane/ archaic/obsolete YET FASCINATING information on the Web . I have found the Web to be both a Blessing and a time-wasting Curse.
Movies:
MOVIES: Streets Of Fire, Ladies & Gentlemen - The Fabulous Stains, Baja Oklahoma, 2 Days In The Valley, the Thin Man series with William Powell & Myrna Loy, numerous others. Particularly enjoy some of the Classic Films of the 1930's & 1940's shot in beautiful Black & White. TELEVISION: NCIS ; CSI:N.Y. ; CSI: Miami ; Antiques Roadshow. Also - I am a bit embarassed to say - Survivor, Hell's Kitchen and The Biggest Loser.
Music:
My musical tastes run the gamut from Paul Whiteman's Orchestra performing Gershwin's RHAPSODY IN BLUE all the way up to Mr. Vedder doing ALIVE. And I stop at most Train Station Stops in between. The rare, lazy Saturday afternoon spent spinning discs just might start by listening to the Avant Garde stylings of LENE and LYDIA and NINA. Or it might be a marathon session of Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. Or I might raid my closet of old shellac and play some FATS, BIX, TEAGARDEN, NELLIE LUTCHER and , of course, LOUIS. However, switching out all of those old 78's is pretty Labor Intensive so I just might spend the afternoon indulging in sampling out 40 years of MELANIE music ( and I own most of it). Or I might just play Jethro Tull's AQUALUNG over and over and over again. Lately I have been mostly raiding my Lp collection ( and watching youtube videos) that date from the 1977 to 1983 period. I just love this " anything goes " time window that produced some really fantastic New Wave, Power Pop, Avant Garde and innovative Punk. Of course, this period also produced a lot of garbage but no one needs to go back and re-visit that stuff unless you really want to. My " Favorited Videos " are by NO means Inclusive of all of My Favorites - but it does represent the music videos that I have been watching - repeatedly - as of late. At ANY and ALL times, my List of FAVORITE ARTISTS would Include: MELANIE Safka, RUNAWAYS / JOAN JETT , David BOWIE , Bob DYLAN ( 1963 - 1976 ), KARLA DeVITO, Melissa ETHERIDGE and - my Newest Fave - JEORDIE (Schekeryk).
Books:
latest GOOD Book that I've read is " BROTHEL: The Story of the Mustang Ranch " by Dr. Alexa Albert. Fascinating and a Good Read. When I want to read for escape and a pleasant diversion - I often go with mysteries and detective stuff : Sue Grafton, John D. McDonald, Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, Earle Stanley Gardner, etc. Some of the Best Fiction in the Mystery/Detective genre is to be found in 1930's/1940's Vintage Paperbacks. A lot of the great authors of this period have never been Reprinted.

Dear Steve: Boy, you are a renaissance guy! I am glad you wrote to me. I haven't had a chance to answer back until now. This link I have included is an interview I did about my meeting and singing for Spielberg's film "Amblin". Maybe you will check it out. Adam ZAnzie is a young fellow very much into film.

I gotta say that I am getting very pissed off with all of the " Paradise By The Dashboard Light " videos with Meat Loaf and Karla DeVito getting yanked of youtube due to copyright claims. First, the great live videos posted by aputey ( Rockpalast show ) and SirMixItAllUp ( Old Grey Whistle Test show) were pulled due to complaints by a Big Brother org. known as Stage 3 Music. Now, the classic first Music Video of this song ( where Karla lipsynchs Ellen's Lp vocals ) that was posted by SwandaG (over 4 million views) has been yanked due claims made by Edward B. Marks. Stage 3 and Marks are respectfully requested to SMD and die.
