Kay is the epitome of Music and he certainly knows how to use it. He not only draws you in as a listener but leaves you wanting for more. A writer a poet and all around talent. Kay's story is nothing like what you've heard before. He hails from Somalia a war torn country which till this day is still in chaos. Kay's family fled Somalia in mist of the war early 1993 at the time Kay was only 4 years old. He came to the U.S. the following year with his mother and siblings. Throughout his early life Kay was exposed to hip-hop, listening to 2pac and Biggie really gave him a sense of how self expression really felt and it felt good. After learning English Kay quickly adapted to the American life and spent most of his adolescent years listening and observing this art form they called Hip-Hop. Being from the nation of poets (Somalia) he took whatever adversity that crossed his path and turned it in to poetry and music. Kay's style is also what makes him different he mixes melody and R&B with Hip-Hop and Soul. A versatile artist that has the ability to connect with fans and put them on a roller coaster ride full of emotion. Upon releasing a full length album and one in the works, plus being bilingual Kay's work relates to a much broader audience on a international level.He states that the "Price Of Greatness is Responsibility" one of the codes that he lives by. Throughout the pain and struggle music is what seems to drive this young talented kid. Now at the age of 20 its needless to say that Kay is blossoming into a great musician and one definitely to keep and eye out for.
